I hope you are joking. First, other countries using this vaccine have recommended similar time gap. For ex. in Canada, its 3 months although their expert committee had recommended up to 4 months.

Canada vaccine panel recommends 4 months between Covid doses

The reason behind the longer gap between vaccine jabs
BTW did you read the 1st article link that you posted? It clearly says that Canada wanted as many 16+ to get vaccinated by increasing the gap.Anyway i really hope there is some scientific reason behind the decision rather than the well known vaccine crunch.

I read it. Obviously, they want to maximize first dose so that by the time 2nd dose is needed, production would have increased to meet the demand. It's a logical step. Also read the 2nd article. There is a scientific basis for longer gap.

Yes i hope so there is some logical reason

Another valid reason is that even partial vaccination status confers a level of protection against the virus. So it's best to give out first dose to as many people as possible before 2nd shots have to be given out.

Can I person still test positive after taking both doses of Covishield?

Yes, you can. It's very common, chances of severe risk get lesser.

However, one of my relative died due to Covid related complications even though he had taken both doses of Covishield and was a frontline warrior. 😞

There are multiple reports which suggests of good immunity after first dose.

This is need of the hour, may help more people get vaccinated till the time supply crunch is there.

I was dying to get vaccinated. I eventually got Covid. Than had to wait for 2 weeks to get vaccinated. Now proposing more delay? Government sure has some id*ots making guidelines.
