Frankly, this is getting ridiculous. The centre is already doing everything to increase production along with the companies. I have already given detaills of 3 companies which will start producing covaxin in a few months. That can't be hurried up. Why? I have also shared a link previously about what happens when you hurry up this complex process. And the major issue is that there are not many who can produce it cause that needs BSL 3 lab setting which is very costly and time consuming and numbers in only few dozens in India. BSL 4 - only 4 or 5.

Covishield by SII - they are also doing everything to increase production. But the major setback has been the delay in novavax production. Here's the details for that delay -

The companies recognize the issue themselves -

Tech transfers, supply of materials must to scale up vaccine production: Bharat Biotech joint MD

Now apart from these two, another is local zycov-d which has completed phase 3 trials and is set to apply for emergency usage this month. Sputnik/Dr Reddy's has stated they will be ready by 20th of this month.

The real change will happen by end of August when Bio-e and Baylors vaccine will come in play as they can churn around 7Cr a month and at the same time Serum will exceed 10 Cr a month and BB crossing 5 Cr a month. This will be further augumented by smaller numbers from Sputnik, Cadila and J&J.

Read yesterday that BBT's vaccine for below 18 also got approval for 2nd phase of trials yesterday.

If you get one, there is no confirmation you will vaccine will be available on the vaccination center.
In Jaipur after several tweet by Jaipurites like us system woke up and at least providing dose to them who received that Tatkal Ticket (slot registered person) But, positive aspect from this is that Vaccine is not wasting.
But, here also what benefit of Digital India when we can't provide a little information about Vaccine availability to person who supposed get shot via booking slot.

The way it is going after few months they may say that vaccine is not at all required
I hope you are joking. First, other countries using this vaccine have recommended similar time gap. For ex. in Canada, its 3 months although their expert committee had recommended up to 4 months.

Canada vaccine panel recommends 4 months between Covid doses

The reason behind the longer gap between vaccine jabs

On February 19, The Lancet published a study that said the efficacy of Covishield's two doses is 81.3 per cent when administered 12 weeks apart, in comparison to an efficacy of 55.1 per cent when administered less than six weeks apart.
