State-owned telecom service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is set to launch 4G services in Uttar Pradesh East circle by February. According to a report by TOI, Rajesh Kumar Soni, the General Manager of BSNL, UP East, said that the work to provide 4G services is in its final stages.
The company will also offer free upgrades of existing 2G and 3G SIM cards to 4G SIM cards without any additional charge. Moreover, the report states that the telco is actively working to extend its 4G services in rural areas where no other telecom operator currently offers any coverage.
BSNL has installed three mobile phone towers at the Maharshi Valmiki airport, the Ram Temple, and the Tent City. It is also working on installing eight more towers at different locations, including the Ayodhya Dham railway station and the Ayodhya Cantonment railway station.
BSNL’s 4G launch in UP East is also significant as it coincides with the upcoming Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in Ayodhya, which is expected to attract millions of devotees and tourists. BSNL is reinforcing its services in Ayodhya to ensure uninterrupted connectivity and smooth communication during the event.
In addition, BSNL is also working on improving the landline network by upgrading the optical fiber. Currently, there are around 46,000 operational landline connections. By launching 4G services in UP East Circle, the company seeks to deliver faster data speeds, better voice, and improved coverage to its customers.
