BSNL rationalizes FRC 249 to offer 2GB per day data benefit

BSNL’s FRC 249 to now offer 2GB per day instead of 1GB per data data benefits. The rationalization kicks into effect from today.

State-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has rationalized it’s recently introduced First Recharge Coupon 249 (FRC 249) to offer 2GB per day data benefits. The rationalization kicks into effect from today according to a BSNL Chennai tweet. The company had regularised FRC 249 effective 1st April 2021 after having launched the plan in March 2021 on a promotional basis till 31st March 2021.

Initially, BSNL offered 1GB data per day along with extra 1GB data per day for recharges done in March 2021. However, BSNL chose to only offer 1GB of data per day after regularising the prepaid plan earlier this month. The company now in a reversal has brought back the additional data benefit through rationalization.

BSNL’s FRC 249 now offers truly unlimited voice in Home LSA and National roaming including MTNL roaming area of Delhi and Mumbai, Unlimited data with speed reduced to 40 kbps after 2GB/day, 100 SMS/day with plan/freebies validity of 60 days.

It is hereby conveyed that FRC249 (First Recharge) is rationalized w.e.f 12.04.2021 in ChennaiTelephones (including TN Circle) under GSM prepaid mobile services,” said BSNL Chennai in a statement last week.

BSNL has recently also announced the extension of promotional offer on STV 398 for another period of 90 days starting 10th April 2021. The STV is now available for a promotional period ending on 8th July 2021.
