State-owned telecom service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is reported to be in talks with Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) which will set BSNL to manage the international calls for its counterpart with consensus likely before the year ends according to an ET Telecom report.
MTNL and BSNL are in discussions with a decision within the next two months which should enable BSNL to facilitate handle MTNL’s international calls. Both the companies are yet to be have any major progress with the issue likely to be decided on a consensus.
MTNL and BSNL won’t be needing any approval from the Digital Communications Communication (DCC).
MTNL is also said to be in the process to function as a virtual network operator (VNO) under the aegis of BSNL with the arrangement of having MTNL provide and manage landline, mobile, and broadband services for BSNL. DoT is said to have reached out to DCC for a nod on the move.
