State-owned telecom service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is said to have crossed over 1 million Bharat Fiber connections with BSNL employees on Twitter circulating posters thanking its customers for their patronage.
BSNL has led the wired broadband market share for a long time with TRAI data for September 2020 pegging the market share of BSNL at 38.55% which translates to around 7.74 million customers. The subscriber base however overtime on a monthly basis eroded with rival operators gaining subscriber base.

BSNL however is said to have added more than 85,000 connections in October with the Kerala circle adding around 15,800 connections leading the chart followed by Tamil Nadu which added around 10,540 connections. The company is aiming to add around 1 lakh new connections every month, according to a BusinessLine report.
BSNL launched revamped Bharat Fiber plans starting October to counter the reduced tariffs from Airtel Xstream Fiber and JioFiber post which BSNL is said to have seen gains in the addition of new connections. The company back in August launched the ‘BookMyFiber’ portal to take customer requests for new BharatFiber connections.
