TRAI conducts drive tests in 15 cities to assess network quality

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) conducted drive tests in 15 cities with the assistance of telecom service providers to assess the network quality provided by cellular mobile telephone service providers for voice and data services. The drive test was conducted in Jalandhar, Ambala, Aizawl, Contai, Imphal, Kishanganj, Port Blair, Bilaspur, Meerut, Gwalior, Ahmednagar, Chikmagalur, Warangal, Cuttack, Coimbatore, Meerut-Agra & Gwalior-Guna highway, and Raigarh-Dongargarh rail route. The drive test were carried out in the quarter ending June 2022.

The key performance indicators assessed for the networks of all telecom service providers operating in the region include Coverage, Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR), Drop Call Rate, Block Call Rate, Handover Success Rate, and Rx Quality for voice services. The KPIs for data services include Download and Upload throughputs, Web Browsing Delay, Video Streaming Delay, and Latency.
