Telecom VNO licenses grow at a steady pace in 2020
Telecom VNO licenses grow steadily in 2020-21 while Telecom licenses remain more or less stagnant bar ISP licenses.

Telecom VNO licenses grew at a steady pace during the recently concluded financial year seeing an increase in Access Service, ISP, NLD, and VSAT licenses while ILD licenses under the VNO license remained stagnant. Telecom licenses on the other hand remained largely stagnant except for ISP licenses which continues to see a steady increase.

Telecom VNO Licenses
On the Access Service licenses front, the number of licenses grew from 162 as of Q1 2020-21 to 257 as of Q4 2020-21. The major increase came in the last quarter seeing addition of 75 licenses in a span of 3 months.
On the ISP licenses front, the number of licenses grew from 280 in 2019-20 to 352 in 2020-21. The number of ISP licenses under VNO license has seen a tremendous growth since 2016-17 gradually increasing from 3 to 352.

NLD licenses increased from 3 in 2019-20 to 4 in 2020-21 while ILD licenses stood stagnant at 1. The number of VSAT licenses under VNO license increased from 2 in 2019-20 to 4 in 2020-21.
Telecom Licenses
The number of Access Service licenses remained stagnant during 2020-21 seeing a minor increase from 156 in 2019-20 to 158 in 2020-21. The number of ISP licenses steadily increased from 1,758 in 2019-20 to 1,827 in 2020-21.

The number of NLD and ILD licenses increased from 36 and 26 respectively in 2019-20 to 37 and 27 respectively in 2020-21. Lastly, VSAT licenses came down to 9 in 2020-21 from 10 in the preceding financial year.
