The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) today issued a notification to all Telecom Licensees intimating submission of compliance letter regarding compliance of all conditions of the recent license amendments on biannual basis.

The letter was in reference to the amendments in Telecom Licenses issued by the Telecom Department in March 2021 for procurement of Telecommunications equipment from Trusted Sources and subsequent instructions issued by the office of DoT.

Telecom Licensees will now file compliance letter on a biannual basis on 1st day of January and 1st day of July of every year to the Licensor. The compliance letter is to be submitted to DoT by the authorized signatory of the Licensee company. DoT has already kick started the compliance process with Telecom Licensees told to commence filing of compliance letters starting cometh 1st July 2021.

In this regard, all Licensees are hereby directed to submit a compliance letter regarding compliance of all conditions of above mentioned license amendment, on 1st day of January and 1st day of July of every year to the Licensor. The compliance letter is to be given by authorized signatory of the Licensee Company. The first compliance shall commence from 1 July, 2021 and shall be sent to AS-V section of AS Wing. The format of compliance letter is attached as Annexure.”

Telecom Licensees simply need to file a statement certifying that they comply with the norms to be followed by the licensee in conditions issued by DoT vide license amendments dated 10th March 2021 for procurement of Telecommunications equipment.
