Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has launched its first ever laptop series in India. The Redmibook series is arriving in India two years after its debut in China. Targeting mid-range and premium segments the brand has unveiled two models RedmiBook Pro and RedmiBook e-Learning Edition.
Both variants are powered by 11th gen Intel Core processors with up to 512GB SSD storage, 15.6-inch FHD displays and a polycarbonate chassis. They come with pre-installed Windows 10 Home, Microsoft Office Home, Student Edition 2019 and are also eligible for free Windows 11 upgrade.
RedmiBook Pro specifications
The RedmiBook Pro has an 11th-generation Intel Core i5-11300H processor with a maximum clock speed of 4.4GHz, Iris Xe graphics, 8GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 3200MHz and 512GB of NVMe SSD storage. Xiaomi says that it can boot in 13.3 seconds, reboot time of 20.34 seconds and wakeup time is 1.01 seconds.
It has two 2W speakers with DTS audio and connectivity options include a 3.5mm audio jack, SD card slot, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0., USB 2.0, LAN, HDMI, two USB 3.2 and charging ports. There is a 46 Whr battery onboard which may provide up to 10 hours backup on a single charge. It supports 65W fast charging.
This laptop features a scissor-mechanism keyboard with 1.5mm key travel, along with a 100cm trackpad that supports Windows Precision Drivers and multi-touch inputs. You also get a 720p webcam with dual microphones.
RedmiBook e-Learning Edition specifications
The RedmiBook e-Learning Edition is powered by an 11th generation Intel Core i3 Core i3-1115G4 processor with a max clock speed of 4.1GHz, paired with 8GB RAM at 3200MHz clock speed and 256GB or 512GB NVMe SSD options.
Similar to RedmiBook Pro, the RedmiBook e-Learning Edition also carries stereo speakers along with DTS Audio, 720p webcam, 1.5mm deep key travel, multi-touch supported trackpad and up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge.
Pricing and Availability
The RedmiBook Pro, designed for professionals, is priced at Rs. 49,999 for the lone 8GB RAM + 512GB storage configuration and will be available only in Charcoal Grey colour option. While the RedmiBook e-Learning Edition will cost Rs. 41,999 for the base variant having 8GB + 256GB storage and Rs. 44,999 for the 8GB + 512GB variant.Â
The sale for these laptops will begin on Friday, August 6 at 12pm online through Flipkart, Mi.com, and offline via Mi Home stores. As a launch offer, Xiaomi is providing up to Rs. 3,500 instant discount on RedmiBook Pro for purchases made using HDFC Bank card or EMI transactions, whereas, on RedmiBook e-Learning Edition up to Rs. 2,500 instant discount will be provided to HDFC Bank customers.
