Xiaomi launched its Redmi Note 10 series in its home market of China on Wednesday. The series consists of two models- Redmi Note 10 5G and Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G. These models are very different from the Redmi Note 10 series smartphones being sold in India. 

Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G Specifications

The Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G comes with a 6.6-inch FHD+ LCD panel with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, centred punch-hole, 450 nits brightness, DCI-P3 colour gamut, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

Under the hood, this handset is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1100 SoC built on a 6nm fabrication process coupled with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. It also has a quadruple cooling system consisting of a Vapor Chamber, graphite, thermally conductive gel, and copper foil. 

For photography and videography, a triple rear camera setup is present that consists of a 64MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens with 120° FOV and a 2MP macro while for selfies a 16MP camera is there on the front housed in a hole-punch cutout. It also has JBL powered dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. 

The handset has a 5,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging support and it runs on the latest MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11. In terms of sensors, it is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint reader, accelerometer, 360° ambient light sensor, gyroscope, ultrasonic proximity sensor, compass, and infrared sensor. Connectivity options include 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, USB Type-C port and NFC.

The Redmi Note 10 5G sports a 6.5-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution, 90Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate and 500 nits peak brightness. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage which is further expandable via a microSD card.

It has a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP (f/1.79) primary sensor and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. On the front, you get an 8MP camera for selfies and video calling. The device features a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support and it runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11 out of the box. 

The fingerprint sensor is side-mounted and other features include USB Type-C audio, Stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, and Hi-Res Audio. 5G SA/NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 axes, Bluetooth 5.2 and GPS/GLONASS are the connectivity options available. 

Pricing and Availability

The Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G will be sold in three storage variants- 6GB RAM + 128GB priced at CNY 1,599 (around Rs. 18,200), 8GB RAM + 128GB priced at CNY 1,799 (around Rs. 20,500) and 8GB RAM + 256GB price at CNY 1,999 (around Rs. 22,800). It will be available in Magic Green, Star Yarn, Moon Soul colour options. 

Price for the Redmi Note 10 5G, on the other hand, starts at CNY 1,099 (around Rs 12,500) for the 4GB + 128GB variant, CNY 1,199 (approx Rs 13,700) for the 6GB + 128GB model, CNY 1,399 (around Rs 15,900) for 8GB + 128GB, and CNY 1,599 (approx Rs 18,200) for the top variant having 8GB + 256GB storage configuration. This comes in three color options- Phantom Blue, Moon Soul, and Star Shade. Both phones are already up for pre-order with a CNY 100 (around Rs. 1,100) discount while their first sale is set to begin on June 1.
