Redmi 9 Power

After teasing for the past few days, Xiaomi India on Thursday has launched its latest budget smartphone Redmi 9 Power in the country. With a starting price of Rs 10,999, Redmi 9 Power is a rebranded Redmi Note 9 4G that was launched in China last month.

Specifications

The Redmi 9 Power features a 6.53-inch full-HD+ IPS LCD panel with a resolution of 2,340×1,080 pixels, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and 400 nits maximum brightness. The display has a dew-drop notch and it is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

The handset is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 chipset paired with Adreno 610 graphics processor, 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of onboard UFS 2.2 storage that is expandable up to 512GB using microSD card. It runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 10.

For photography, there is a quad-camera setup on the back consisting of a 48MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 2MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, you get an 8MP sensor which supports AI face unlock. 

The phone is driven by a 6,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast charging (22.5W charger in the box). The device also supports wired reverse charging and has Enhanced Lifespan Battery (ELB) technology. The fingerprint sensor is side-mounted and the smartphone is also equipped with High-Res audio stereo speakers and Widevine L1 certification. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, VoWiFi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, Infrared (IR) blaster, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Pricing and Availability

The Redmi 9 Power is priced at Rs 10,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant and Rs 11,999 for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage option. It will be available in four colour options- Blazing Blue, Electric Green, Fiery Red, and Mighty Black. The sale is set to begin on December 22 at 12 pm through Amazon India, Mi.com and offline via Mi Homes, Mi Studios, and Mi Stores.
