After weeks of rumours and speculations, Chinese smartphone maker Poco on Tuesday finally confirmed that it will launch its first non-smartphone device, a true-wireless (TWS) earphones in India and the product is in the pipeline.
General Manager of Poco India, C Manmohan had also previously hinted at the same by running a poll on Twitter in which he asked fans about what product category they would want POCO to launch next.
The poll included four options (TWS earphones, Headphones, Fitness Wearable and Gamepad) among which TWS earphones got the highest share of votes at 38.2%.
Later, Poco organized a virtual fan meet which was joined by more than 500 fans. The meet had an in-depth Q&A round with the Poco team which could be seen as a preliminary market survey to know the demand of their customers.
After the fan meet, Poco took to Twitter to confirm that the company would be launching a truly wireless headphone in India. However, Poco hasn’t revealed any details about the earbuds yet. “Further information on Poco TWS will be shared at a later point,” the company said in a statement.
The upcoming TWS earbuds from Poco will directly compete with the Realme Buds Air, Lenovo HT10 Pro, etc. in the budget section. With increasing competition in that section, we can expect some aggressive pricing from the company.
