Poco has launched the affordable Poco C55 smartphone in India. The phone features a 6.71-inch HD+ display, MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 5000mAh battery, IP52 rating for water and dust resistance, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. It also comes with a RAM expansion feature that utilizes the onboard storage as RAM to provide an additional 5GB of virtual RAM for improved performance. Further, the phone runs on the Android 12 operating system out of the box with MIUI 13 customization on top.
Poco C55 specifications
The Poco C55 features a 6.71-inch HD+ (1650 x 720 pixels) LCD display with a 60Hz refresh rate, a 120Hz touch sampling rate, and 534 nits of peak brightness. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 (12nm) chipset paired with up to 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128GB of eMMC 5.1 onboard storage. It also supports a microSD card of up to 1TB through a dedicated slot.
In terms of optics, the Poco C55 sports a dual rear camera setup of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. For taking selfies and making video calls, the phone is equipped with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Poco C55 packs a non-removable 5000mAh battery that supports 10W wired charging.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ GLONASS, dual 4G VoLTE, and a Micro-USB port. Sensors include an accelerometer, proximity, and a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. Lastly, the phone measures 168.76 × 76.41 × 8.77 mm and weighs 192 grams.
Pricing and availability
The base variant of Poco C55 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage is priced at Rs. 9,499, while the top model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant costs Rs. 10,999. The phone comes in Cool Blue, Forest Green, and Power Black color options and will be available via the Poco e-store and Flipkart in the country starting February 28, 2023.
On the first day of the sale, the base variant will be available for Rs. 8,499, and the top variant will be available for Rs. 9,999. These prices include bank offers for HDFC Bank, SBI Bank, and ICICI Bank cards.
