Following the footsteps of Elon Musk’s Twitter, social media giant Meta has launched a new subscription service that allows users to get a verified blue badge on their Facebook and Instagram accounts. The subscription service is called Meta Verified and is currently available in select locations, including the United States, Australia, and New Zealand.
In the US, the Meta Verified subscription is available for USD 14.99 (around Rs. 1,232) per month on Android and iOS devices, while on the web, it costs USD 11.99 (around Rs. 986) per month. Now, according to reports, a Meta Verified subscription in India will cost Rs. 1,450 per month on mobile devices and Rs. 1,099 per month via web browsers.
In addition to the verified badge, Meta Certified accounts gets proactive account protection, direct account support, and other exclusive features, such as wider exposure, exclusive stickers on Facebook and Instagram Stories and Reels, and 100 Stars a month on Facebook. Currently, Meta Verified is not available for businesses or people younger than 18 years old.
Currently, users can join the waitlist by going to about.meta.com/technologies/meta-verified and selecting Facebook or Instagram, and logging in. Once logged in, users can join the waitlist, and they will receive an email when the Meta Verified subscription is available for their account.
