Indian smartphone manufacturer Lava has launched a new affordable smartphone, the Lava X2, in India. The phone features a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS display, MediaTek Helio G35 SoC, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, dual-rear camera setup, and packs a 5000mAh Lithium Polymer battery. The Lava X2 runs on the Android 11 Go edition operating system out of the box.

Lava X2 features a 6.5-inch HD+ (720 x 1600 pixels) IPS display with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 (12 nm) chipset (4 x 2.3 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4 x 1.8 GHz Cortex-A53) paired with PowerVR GE8320 graphics, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of eMMC 5.1 onboard storage. The phone also comes with a dedicated MicroSD card slot for expandable storage.
In terms of optics, the Lava X2 comes with a dual-rear camera setup of an 8-megapixel primary sensor with an f/2.0 aperture lens. For taking selfies and making video calls, the phone is equipped with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with an f/2.2 aperture lens housed in a waterdrop style notch display. Lava X2 includes a non-removable 5000mAh battery, which is claimed to deliver up to 38 hours of talk time on a 4G network and up to 10.5 hours of YouTube playback on a single charge.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth version 5.0 with A2DP support, GPS/ A-GPS, 4G VoLTE, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port for charging and USB On-The-Go. Sensors include an accelerometer, proximity, and a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. Lastly, the phone measures 165 x 76 x 9 mm and weighs 192 grams.
Pricing and availability
Lava X2 is priced at Rs. 6,999 for the single 2GB RAM and 32GB storage variant. The phone comes in Blue and Cyan color options and is available for pre-booking at a discounted price of Rs. 6,599 on the Amazon India website till March 11, 2022. The phone will go on sale in the country starting March 12, 2022, at the original price of Rs 6999. It will also be available on the Lava e-store.
