Lava, on Monday, launched the Lava Blaze 5G smartphone in India. The phone features a 6.5-inch HD+ IPS waterdrop-style notch display, MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, 5G connectivity, and a 5000mAh battery. Further, the phone can utilize unused onboard storage space to provide up to 3GB of virtual RAM. Lava Blaze 5G runs on the Android 12 operating system out of the box.

The Lava Blaze 5G features a 6.5-inch HD+ (720 X 1600 pixels) IPS display with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 90Hz refresh rate. The phone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 (7nm) paired with Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of onboard storage. It also supports a microSD card of up to 1TB for expandable storage.
Lava Blaze 5G comes with an AI-powered triple rear camera setup of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) support. For taking selfies and making video calls, the phone has an 8-megapixel camera on the front. Camera features include HDR, portrait mode, macro, AI, panorama, slo-mo video, timelapse, QR code scanner, and more.
The phone packs a non-removable 5000mAh lithium polymer battery that is said to deliver up to 50 hours of talk time on a 4G network. Connectivity options include dual-band WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS/ GLONASS, 5G, 4G LTE, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors include an accelerometer, proximity, magnetometer, ambient light, gyroscope, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
Lastly, the phone measures 165.3 × 76.4 × 8.9 mm and weighs 207 grams.
Pricing and availability
The Lava Blaze 5G comes with an introductory price of Rs. 9,999 for the sole 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The phone comes in Glass Blue and Glass Green color options. It will be available via Amazon India. However, the company is yet to announce the sale date of the smartphone.
