Jio Prime subscribers unable to recharge in April or before can avail this complimentary recharge

India’s leading telecom service provider Reliance Jio last week silently launched a new offer wherein the company is offering a complimentary recharge to select Jio Prime subscribers. As part of the offer, all Jio Prime subscribers who were unable to recharge their accounts post expiry of recharge in April 2021 or before will be provided with a complimentary recharge of Prime STV 98.

For availing of the complimentary recharge of Prime STV 98, Jio Prime subscribers need to opt for a prime recharge of Rs 98 denomination or above. The same has been rolled out by Reliance Jio as a COVID-19 pandemic relief measure. The benefit however won’t be available on top-ups, data booster packs, ISD packs, IR packs, and In-Flight packs.

Reliance Jio’s regulatory filings accessed by OnlyTech further reveal that the offer dubbed ‘Jio Prime complimentary benefits – COVID Relief’ has been introduced from 22nd May 2021. The regulatory filings further state that only Jio Prime subscribers with no active recharge as of 30th April 2021 are eligible for the complimentary recharge provided they recharge with Prime STV 98 and above.

Jio Regulatory Filings

Jio’s Prime STV 98 offers 1.5GB of high-speed data per day and unlimited voice calling. The internet speed after consumption of daily data cap reduces to 64Kbps. Jio user subscribing to the prepaid plan will get 21GB of high-speed data during the validity of the prepaid plan that comes with a service validity of 14 days. The prepaid plan was brought back by Jio on May 22, 2021 for Smartphone users.

The company separately is also offering COVID-19 relief for JioPhone customers wherein those who haven’t recharged will be allocated 300 minutes of outgoing calls free per month with a daily cap of 10 minutes valid for 30 days. Separately, all JioPhone customers recharging post 15th May 2021 will be provided a complimentary recharge of the same denomination as the recharge.

The complimentary recharge will apply after expiry of opted recharge. The benefit is not applicable on annual plan of Rs. 749 and JioPhone 2021 offer of annual and bi-annual plans,” said Reliance Jio in a regulatory filing.
