Google has announced the event dates for its Google I/O 2022 annual developer conference. The event will be held on May 11 and May 12 at the Shoreline Amphitheater. Before revealing the date, Google published its I/O puzzle for enthusiasts to figure out the event date. According to a FAQ, “This year’s event will be broadcast in front of a limited live audience, and is completely free and open to everyone virtually.” However, the “limited live audience” includes Google employees and some partners.
Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, announced the dates of the Google I/O 2022 event via a tweet on March 17, 2022.
Registration for the Google I/O 2022 event is free for everyone. There are no tickets this year, and everyone will be able to attend the event virtually. Registration allows attendees to save and view content that is relevant to them and also create a developer profile. Without registration, attendees will be able to view sessions and keynotes but won’t be able to save content, get recommendations, or chat in I/O Adventure.
To recall, Google I/O 2020 was canceled due to COVID- 19 pandemic and conducted as an online event in 2021. Last year, Google announced Android 12 Material You design, updates to Google Workspace, and a partnership with Samsung to develop Wear OS. This year, Google is expected to showcase the Android 13 operating system in I/O 2022.
