The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has directed all new and existing licensees who have not been onboarded on the Tarang Sanchar portal to register and submit the EMF compliance through it only. The direction came after it was noticed that some licensees had not been on-boarded on the Tarang Sanchar portal.

The licensees must submit self-certification of Base Transceiver Station (BTS) for conformity to Electro Magnetic Field (EMF) exposure norms. They have to submit it whenever they install or upgrade a BTS apart from the triennial cycle norm.

It has been noticed that some of the licensees have not on-boarded the Tarang Sanchar portal. Accordingly, the undersigned is directed to state that all new as well as existing licensees, who have not on-boarded the Tarang Sanchar Portal, are here by directed to register on the Tarang Sanchar Portal and submit the EMF compliance through the Tarang Sanchar Portal only,” said DoT in its letter to its licensees.

Tarang Sanchar portal disseminates information on all BTSs and their EMF exposure compliance status to the public. After its launch, the licensees’ manual submissions of EMF compliances were discontinued.
