Premier League Season 2022-2023 | News, Discussion & Updates

Jao Felix received red card on his debut for Chelsea
He played very well before launching into a poor tackle.Chelsea lost Zakaria through injury yesterday. There isn't a single matchday where a player is not getting injured. There needs to be a serious analysis of training methods, fitness coaches and the medical dept at Chelsea to find out the reason for such high number of injuries.2-3 years back other teams competing in Europe used to look enviously at Chelsea for their superb injury record.Other than the long term injuries there were hardly any niggling injuries such as that of Kante who was initially out for a month in August and yet we are in a new year and he is 2 months away from returning to action.People blame Boehly for disbanding the medical dept. at Chelsea but even before him the injury record last year or so was very poor.Pulisic,Kante,Reece,Chilwell,Christensen,RLC,Ziyech were regular visitors to medical facility.Even someone like Sterling who had been hardly injured in his career is facing a 2 month layoff.

The lesser said about Potter the better it would be.For starters he has to talk and act like a Chelsea manager and not some lower midtable team boss. The seat was donned by the likes of Mourinho,Ancelloti,Tuchel,Conte among others who had their personality which influenced the players.Potter it seems thinks that this Chelsea job is god's gift to him and there isn't a single press conference where he doesn't expresses his gratitude for the same.Fans have already turned on him and it would be a toxic stadium if the team doesn't get a result against Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Garnacho Has been a great find for United This season already has been much better than Jadon Sancho at just 18 years old. Erik Ten Hag has been able to get best out of the existing United players like Rashford, Dalot, Shaw. Casemiro has made huge difference in midfield. Only thing they need is much better owners than Glazers who can cooperate much better with Ten Hag.

The owners are 1st one to be blamed when the things do not go well at a club even though they might have poured huge amount of money for the club. For me the biggest mistake from Glazer's side was that they allowed things to remain as it is after Fergie left.United as such didn't had any structure of a modern football team under Fergie. His word was final on everything. They didn't even had a proper recruitment team in place under Fergie. The agents used to put forward their clients to Fergie 1st and only after his go the financial team used to get involved. It was not a coincidence that after he left successive managers struggled to do anything meaningful with the team until now under Ten Hag.The story is similar at Chelsea, under Roman Chelsea won a lot and it papered the cracks that were obvious from a long time. The problem with Chelsea at later stages of Roman era and now under Boehly is that no longer they can afford to outbid every opponent for players.Without a proper structure in place any team is going to struggle in future.
