Hi guys,

Sad news for me. My phone got manufacturing defect.

So here is what happened, yesterday morning when i woke up device was heated up. Later in the afternoon i accientally opened the camera and shocked to see it gave a WARNING, Camera failed.

Then i tried opening the camera app multiple times but no luck. It kept giving same error. Went to service center, and they asked me whether i have Reset the camera settings and tried. I have did that infront of them but it did no change. Same black screen when i reopened the camera app. We also restarted the phone but again, same error.

She then asked me to take backup so they can Update the phone with software from their system, i had no SD card or other device so came back home and took backup via PC. Then i factory reset the device and opened the Camera app but again the camera did not worked.

Went to near by Samsung care again today and they loaded the software but it didn't solved my issue so she confirmed it to be hardware fault.

I asked whether they can replace my device with new one as its a manufacturing defect but she said Samsung has a policy of 14 days replacement from the date of purchase for such defects so they would be replacing the faulty part only for free on my device.

They are guessing Camera burnt inside the board.

Now i only hope the device comes back to normal condition as it was before. It is the first piece in my city which malfunctioned. So hopefully they won't test-learn in my device!

I am using my old S8 as backup device now.

Sad to hear that @Bapun Raz bro, hope your issue gets resolved soon. Surprising that they are not offering you a replacement piece even though it's under warranty. Such hardware defects should be addressed only with device replacement not part!! Because we never get that original manufacturing output once the device is touched by service center guys!

I guess this is where Apple scores higher. My friend's iphone 6 was hanging occasionally after 11 months of usage. He took it to the service center and after they checked the device it was found to be having some manufacturing defect. They offered him a brand new piece as a replacement and he is now using a new device!!

That is exactly what i told them but then he kept explaining it undergoes many tests before giving away to the customer and we do things very carefully to make sure no problem left and i had no choice then! :verysad:

I think that's not proper on Samsung's part! They should offer a replacement device at least for flagships! One spends a lot of money on those devices and it should give peace of mind.

She even said, these are high end devices and they need to report their higher people before opening the device and once repairing completed they do provide a detailed report on what exactly was causing the device to malfunction, but i was not satisfied with their replies and at the end i am the sufferer!
