With over 50 OTTs in the market, all having their own subscription cost, an average user will only selectively subscribe to a handful of platforms at a time if the cost is not subsidised in a bundle. It's similar to DTH with a la carte channels and channel bundles. If the bundling ends the viewership of individual channels takes a hit. Because the subscribers pocket size and spending capacity is going to remain the same.
I still don't expect likes of Netflix, Prime and now JioCinema which is gonna be the biggest OTT platform of the country to be part of any bundles.

One thing is for sure if jio cinema is not bunddled with jio recharge, its tough road ahead. Their customer acquisition is almost double the existing subscription plan

Netflix and Prime won't, but Jio Cinema sporting content is currently present in Tata Play Binge app and after Voot gets folded into Jio Cinema I'm expecting it to be a part of the Binge bundle as well.

This could be temporary arrangement for IPL to counter Star and Airtel. They are not giving JioCinema Select to Fiber users. Forget about offering same to a rival broadband platform.

No one pays for Netflix as a single user. Over 90% of paid Netflix subscriptions in India are shared between 2 to 10 people depending on the denomination of the plan and number of screens included. I personally share the 4 screen plan with 3 of my cousins who share the cost which brings the price to 1950 per head for the entire year. And apart from us 4, we have our family members who share our individual profiles and they are not even factored in to the calculation.
If Netflix had priced the plan according to Indian paying standards then the same users would have bought the subscription at that price and had their individual accounts.
So one way or another the subscriber is going to find a way to stream the content in their budget and paying capacity.
Why cant you do the same 4 sharing with a JioCinema 3k plan?

Well if they provide the same convenience of multiple profiles and ability to lock individual profiles with a lock code and the freedom of having more than 30 devices logged in simultaneously with the same id and only a limitation on the number of concurrent streams then I'm all up for it.
But until that happens, no thank you.

You are comparing rotten mango with sweet mango 😜

Jokes apart, Jio cinema app should first make the player intuitive for the big screens.

For watching cricket , current player is ok. But for the ott where users keep doing forward, backward, it is harder task.
