Today my staff boy told a short story.
There is a small idly shop run by a old lady. An idly cost ₹1. Opposite a hotel sell the same @₹5. There are much crowd for the old lady.
Suddenly the opposite hotel given the idly foc. All the crowd change here. The lady closed the shop. Again the hotel fixed the cost ₹ 10. All the crowd felt.... Now you all understand. What I comes to tell.

To some extent it is applicable. jio when it started gave too many freebies for an year or so. Other companies were slow to realize that they were going down the ladder so fast. That one year paved way for predatory pricing which ultimately resulted in ending tata docomo, aircel,Reliance communications, mts etc.

by above logic one should hv continued with blackberry/nokia etc costing much more than what an android phone, which offers better ecosystem/experience, costs today. cause by adopting android people killed bb/nokia etc.
why don't people understand it is abt technology, adaptation and evaluation. those who are continuing with old practices and systems are going to take hit sooner or later.

Your logic does not correctly apply to the telecom sector. In most countries, the investments of the incumbents are protected considering the vast amount of capital required to build telecom infrastructure and also considering the fact that our economy depends on it. The competition commission failed to keep a check on Jio's misadventure. You cannot just let some operator die because a new one has entered the fray and has ginormous pockets.

9 years ago this blogger picked up what might be the biggest scam in Indian telecom history in his blog? You wanna know why 2G, 3G prices were so high. Should give this a good read. 👇

Reliance and Infotel: One More Telecom Scam?

A company worth ₹15 lakhs bought spectrums worth ₹12,848 crores. How is that even possible?

Mota Bhai's Last minute entry in Telecom on that time with big bang!

My english is bad. What do you mean brother?
I think Mota bhai settles disputes with Chota bhai before the day of spectrum auctions and enters in to Infotel. All were surprising that small company Infotel won the pan India spectrum against big giants like Airtel on that day.

Meanwhile, did Infotel qualify for auctions?
