I think they will have iptv. There is no use of broadband without entertainment. They will have iptv, movies, prime, netflix everything. They will destroy the young market in cities. Only small places where there is no fiber, people will pay to get dth/cable.

What % of the population require (broadband) Internet?
If JIO wants to penetrate to TV viewers, they should provide TV only plans.
Majority population will be having just a CRT TV set in India still.

I get what u say, But Jio's TV service works on their Giga Fiber service. They cant give TV service alone without Giga Fiber. Jio CC said this when i had emailed them months back.

BASIC PLAN: Rs.599 - 100Mbps upto 100GB

Basic won't be basic if they give 100 Mbps in it. Rather 50 Mbps looks dencet for entry plan and they also plan like that which is why they launched the Rs 2500 router already.

They are somehow marketing Jio TV as a streaming service instead of an IPTV service.

Yes, but if u see their Jio TV app, it has LCN nos with EPG/Guide and UI also looks same as TS one.
Streaming Apps should not have LCN nos. But Jio TV app has them.

Does landline connection is mandatory for taking jio giga fiber? If anybody doesnt want landline then he will has to take landline. Today no body uses landline in his home. So landline is just useless.
If anyone opt out for landline then any waive for months rental? I think after 12 August it may be cleared only

I am 90% sure. You are getting TV + Internet + Landline for ₹500 which is the cheapest plan. Also first 6 months is completely free. But am not gonna confirm as they bait us with false pricing before launch. Was really embarrassed after watching the difference in pricing of Jio Phone 1. It was supposed to be ₹999. Somehow it became ₹1500.
