Dates of General Election & Assembly Election of Three States Declared
It will be held in 9 phases from 7 April to May 12, the Election Commission said today.
543 constituencies to be covered in 9 poll dates, added EC's VS Sampath.
Polling dates are: 7, 9, 10, 12, 17, 24, 30 April and May 7 and May 12
First data of polling will be on 7 April. It will cover 2 states and 6 LS constituencies
Second date of polling will be on 9 April—5 states, 7 Parliamentary constituencies
Third day of poll is 10 April—14 states, 92 Parliamentary constituencies
4th Day of Poll is 12 April— 3 states, 5 Parliamentary constituencies
Phase 5 of polls will be held on April 17— 13 states and UTs, 122 Parliamentary constituencies
Phase 6 will take place on April 24— 12 states, 117 constituencies
7th phase on 30th April— 9 states, 89 Parliamentary constituencies
8th Phase on 7 May — 7 states, 64 Parliamentary constituencies
9th phase on 12 May—3 states, 41 Parliamentary constituencies
Lok Sabha polls and assembly polls will be held on the same days
Counting for Lok Sabha elections will take place on 16 May. Most results are expected to be out by mid-afternoon on 16 May.
Last date to enroll as a voter is 9 March, at poll booths offices across India
