Guys Can I stop data by sending SMS STOP to 1925 in BSNL ?  :huh

It seems not working. But TRAI regulation says it should work. As usual Bsnl CC and office staff has no idea.  :angry

It should work in BSNL too bro itz for all telecom networks in India :dodgy .. Instead of SMS try to call and deactivate :) ..

Call not connecting. Sms replay getting that GPRS service will be deactivated but nothing happens. Most frustrating this is that CC is saying we cannot deactivate data and advice me to trun off data from Handset.

When I asked how will it prevent from main account balance deduction after expiry of data stv she said it's not possible in bsnl.

Strange this is that Govt company isn't aware of Govt regulations and orders. This happens only in India [emoji19]

New technology to make data transfer 10 times faster than 5G

Researchers have developed a terahertz (THz) transmitter capable of transmitting digital data at a rate 10 times or more faster than that offered by the fifth-generation mobile networks (5G) expected to appear around 2020.

The terahertz transmitter could make it possible for the whole content on a DVD (digital versatile disk) to be transferred in a fraction of a second, according to the research scheduled to be presented at the International Solid-State Circuits Conference ( ISSCC) 2017 being held from February 5-9 in San Francisco, California.

The terahertz band is a new and vast frequency resource expected to be used for future ultrahigh-speed wireless communications.

"Terahertz could offer ultrahigh-speed links to satellites as well, which can only be wireless. That could, in turn, significantly boost in-flight network connection speeds, for example. Other possible applications include fast download from contents servers to mobile devices and ultrafast wireless links between base stations," said one of the researchers Minoru Fujishima , Professor at Hiroshima University in Japan.

The research group has developed a transmitter that achieves a communication speed of 105 gigabits per second using the frequency range from 290 gigahertz (GHz) to 315 GHz.

This range of frequencies are currently unallocated but fall within the frequency range from 275 GHz to 450 GHz, whose usage is to be discussed at the World Radio communication Conference (WRC) 2019 under the International Telecommunication Union Radiocommunication Section (ITU-R).

Last year, the group demonstrated that the speed of a wireless link in the 300-GHz band could be greatly enhanced by using quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM).

This year, they showed six times higher per-channel data rate, exceeding 100 gigabits per second for the first time as an integrated-circuit-based transmitter.

"This year, we developed a transmitter with 10 times higher transmission power than the previous version's. This made the per-channel data rate above 100 Gbit/s at 300 GHz possible," Fujishima said.

"We usually talk about wireless data rates in megabits per second or gigabits per second. But we are now approaching terabits per second using a plain simple single communication channel," Fujishima added.

The research group from Hiroshima University, Japan's National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, and Panasonic Corporation plans to further develop 300-GHz ultrahigh-speed wireless circuits.

Yes, at night Jio offers unlimited data 2-5am. I have downloaded 20 GB+ once. Still it was unlimited, but you need to be on band 3 for full speed.

Anybody please confirm me , Is jio offerings 3GB free from 2-5am:shy

5G Wireless Technology Is Now Official, With a Logo

Rubber-stamping the much-speculated name to the next generation wireless communication technology, the 3GPP cellular standards group has officially adopted the term '5G' going forward. The 'Organizational Partners' have approved the new logo of 5G along with the name, which will become the forthcoming wireless standard. The new 5G logo is derived from the LTE Advanced Pro design, however forgoing the general recurrence of the 4G LTE branding.

The 3GPP cellular standards group said that the idea behind this derived logo "is to keep a familiar design aspect with the use of plain black text and textured waves, but to make the logo stronger and sharper - ready for use on the new radio and next generation core specifications for 5G." As we said, the 5G logo bears 'waves' over it, same as what we see over the LTE Advanced Pro version.

5G wireless technology specifications are still being finalised and it is expected to be ready by late 2018. This is also when the first of the imminent phases - Phase 1 - will roll out, while the Phase 2 is due for completion in the year 2020. As we said, the definition of 5G is yet to be given by the group - however it's said to aim more on bandwidth rather than high speeds like 4G. We have already been hearing a lot about 5G to be more IoT-specific, which we can expect to kickstart the 'Internet of Things' era. "The use of the 5G logo on 3GPP specification cover sheets is intended to help the industry to identify at which point in time 5G features will appear," said the 3GPP in a release.

The advancement of 5G will begin after the Phase 1 rolls out across the globe, which hopefully includes India in the roadmap. Several telecom companies, chipset manufacturers like Intel, Qualcomm, Nokia and Samsung have already unveiled their devices that will support the upcoming technology.
