Rahul hasn't performed since years. It's just Gill didn't perform in WTC Final First one, that's why he was picked in 2021 series in England. If he plays then Gill should go out blindly. Rahul at four doesn't make sense. Rahul has shots which Sanath Jaysurya used to play. I don't know whether he will be able to find his mojo or not within very limited chances we have till WC23.

You're confused. KL and Gill are not competing for the same spot. KL now bats at number 5 in ODIs. His days as opener are long gone. There's no question of dropping Gill unless he performs very badly in Asia Cup and Australia series. Backup opener in the squad is Ishan Kishan
