Google, on Thursday, launched the Chromecast with Google TV HD in India. The streaming device comes with a dedicated Google Assistant for voice control button that allows users to search contents or ask general questions and also control connected smart home devices. Chromecast with Google TV HD features an HDMI connector, dual-band Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, and supports AV1 video decoding.

Chromecast with Google TV HD features a compact and thin design and comes with an HDMI connector that supports up to full HD (1920 x 1080p) HDR streaming. The remote has dedicated buttons for YouTube, Netflix, and Google Assistant for voice control.
Google TV aggregates content across various streaming apps and delivers personalized suggestions based on users’ app subscriptions, viewing habits, and movies and TV shows. The device also provides access to over 5000 apps via Google Play Store, including Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video, Zee5, Voot, and Netflix.
Users can use the device to cast media, Google Photos, or Google Meet video calls from their phone on the big screen. According to a report, the Chromecast with Google TV HD is powered by an Amlogic S805X2 chipset paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage and supports AV1 video decode.
Lastly, Chromecast with Google TV HD measures 162.5 x 61 x 12.5 mm and weighs 55 grams, while the remote measures 122 x 38 x 18mm and weighs 63 grams.
Pricing and availability
The Chromecast with Google TV HD is available in 19 countries, including India, and is priced at Rs. 4,499. The device is currently available for Rs. 4,199 on Flipkart during the Big Billion Days Sale 2022 and comes in single classic Snow color. Chromecast with Google TV HD is expected to be available via leading retail stores in the country soon.
