BSNL Kerala has silently revised the tariff for its prepaid users. Unlike other operators, BSNL hasn’t increased the tariff rates but reduced the prepaid plan validity for several of its existing plans.
Speaking on the development Raju Lal, a BSNL user belonging to Kerala circle said,
” A silent tariff hike has taken place in BSNL Kerala circle with reduced validity of plans and STVs. The rates have not been increased yet, keeping it lower than Jio and others. I think similar activity may be going on in other circles.”
OnlyTech accessed the BSNL PoS card for December 2019 and November 2019 for the Kerala circle and noticed the reduction in pack validity for many plans. The changes are listed below.

The first recharge or FRC, which costs Rs106 or Rs107 offers, unlimited calls, 1 GB per day data, and 100 SMS per day, is now valid for 21 days. Earlier, the pack was valid for 24 days. Rs153 PRBT plan, which offers unlimited calls, 1.5 GB per day data, and 100 SMS per day, is now valid for 21 days. Earlier, the pack was valid for 24 days.
Rs186 plan, which offers unlimited calls, 3 GB per day data, and 100 SMS per day, is now valid for 24 days. Earlier, the pack was valid for 26 days. Smart plan at Rs234 which offers unlimited calls, 90 GB data, and 100 SMS per day, is now valid for 30 days. Earlier, the pack was valid for 40 days.
Kerala plan at Rs446 which offers unlimited calls, 2 GB per day data, and 100 SMS per day, is now valid for 75 days. Earlier, the pack was valid for 81 days. Rs485 plan, which offers unlimited calls, 2 GB per day data, and 100 SMS per day, is now valid for 84 days. Earlier, the pack was valid for 90 days.
