State-owned telecom service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has extended free validity up to 5th May 2020 following the private telecom service providers who had earlier this week announced validity extension. It has also introduced new facilities to help its customers.
BSNL subscribers whose validity has expired during the lockdown period and are not able to recharge for extension of validity will get free validity so that all subscribers continue to receive incoming calls.
BSNL has also launched ‘Recharge Helpline’ on toll-free number 5670099, for subscribers with facilities of ‘Ghar Baithe Recharge’ and ‘Apno ki madad se recharge’ for all subscribers who are not able to recharge through digital platforms.
“BSNL firmly stands besides its subscribers during this crisis period and we request the subscribers to “Go Digital” for recharging their accounts. Several options available for recharge include MyBSNL mobile app, BSNL website and other popular wallet services.”

BSNL has made the feature live in North and West zones currently. It will be expanded to South and East zones from 22nd April. In ‘Ghar Baithe Recharge’, the subscriber can ask for a specific recharge which will be provided by a BSNL executive who shall reach the subscriber.
Under the ‘Apno ki madad se recharge’ subscribers can get a recharge from family or friend. Airtel, Vodafone Idea, and Jio are already providing this feature with incentives as well for recharging numbers of those in need.
