State-owned telecom service provider Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has advised business entities involved in sending commercial communication to register themselves as principal entity mandatorily to keep in line with TRAI rules.
BSNL in a press release stated that such business entities should register themselves as principal entity mandatorily on the BSNL DLT portal www.ucc-bsnl.co.in. The headers/SMS Sender IDs/number from which they send out commercial communication along with the SMS and call content templates must also be registered in line with regulations.
The sending out of commercial communication without registration and headers assigned to them violates TRAI provisions. The existing subscribers consent and consent acquisition is to be submitted through the portal.
BSNL will verify all commercial communication with the subscriber’s consent and it being diverted to them. The actions will help protect sanctity and authenticity of the commercial communication sent to them.
