Amazon launches low cost streaming media player in the form of Fire TV Stick Lite and new generation Fire TV stick. The company promises faster streaming with 50% more powerful processor than the previous generations.
Amazon is also set to roll out new Fire TV user interface later this year which is designed to be more personalized and customized with user profiles, enhanced Alexa voice integration and new content discovery features.
Fire TV Stick Lite specifications
Fire TV Stick Lite is powered by a 1.7 GHz quad-core processor paired with IMG GE8300 GPU, 1GB RAM, 8 GB of internal storage. The device runs on Fire OS 7 which is based on Android Pie. The included Alexa voice remote lite doesn’t have dedicated volume and power buttons for controlling television.
Fire TV Stick Lite supports streaming videos at up to 1080p resolution at 60fps and comes with HDCP version 2.2 supporting HDR10, HDR10+, HLG content. It also supports Dolby audio formats like Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital+, Dolby Atmos with HDMI audio passthrough. Connectivity options included are dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0. The device is compatible with Apple Airplay and supports Miracast.
