Amazon has launched Echo Input, a new battery-powered smart speaker in India. It is a portable voice-controlled smart speaker that does not require an external power source all the time.

Amazon has launched Echo Input, a new battery-powered smart speaker in India. It is a portable voice-controlled smart speaker that does not require an external power source all the time. It comes with a built-in 4800mAh rechargeable battery that can provide up to 10 hours of music playback and up to 11 hours of standby time.

Current battery level is indicated by four led bulbs. Users need to tap the power button to see the current status of the battery. To charge the battery a 5W power adapter and a micro USB cable are provided with the device. The device has a built-in 1.5-inch speaker. Unlike other Echo devices, this device does not come with a 3.5 mm audio out port.

For connectivity, it supports dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 and 5 GHz) networks. It does not support connecting to peer or Ad-hoc Wi-Fi networks. For Bluetooth connectivity, the device supports Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) for audio streaming from mobile devices to Echo Input or from Echo Input to another Bluetooth speaker.  

The device is priced at Rs. 5999. But it is available at an introductory price of Rs. 4999. Amazon Echo Input is available for pre-order on Amazon and the company will start shipping the device on December 18, 2019. 

Recently, the company has also launched the Echo flex in India. It is a compact Alexa powered smart speaker that plugs directly into a wall socket which eliminates the need for an external power adapter. It has a built-in USB Type-A port to charge mobile phones (7.5 W). It comes with a 0.6-inch built-in speaker.

Amazon Echo flex is priced at Rs. 2999. It is available for pre-order and the company will start shipping the device on December 10, 2019. Currently, the company is offering Wipro smart bulb for free with Amazon Echo Flex.
