Telecom service provider Vodafone on Tuesday launched a new Rs 555 unlimited prepaid plan offering unlimited calls, SMS and high-speed data benefits for 70 days along with Vodafone Play and Zee5 subscription for free in Mumbai circle.
As per the listing on Vodafone India’s website, this new plan will offer 1.5 GB of data per day, 100 SMS per day and free unlimited local, national calls to any network across India for 70 days. Users will also get a subscription to OTT apps like Vodafone Play and Zee5 worth Rs 499 and Rs 999 respectively at no extra cost.
Reliance Jio also has a Rs 555 plan which offers 1.5 GB/day data and 100 SMS/day for longer validity of 84 days but unlike Vodafone, they do not provide truly unlimited off-net calls. The Rs 555 plan from Jio comes with FUP of 3000 off-net call minutes after which your calls will be charged at 6 paise per minute.
At a similar price point, Airtel has a Rs 558 plan which offers truly unlimited calls, 3 GB/day data and 100 SMS/day for 56 days. Users with this plan also get Airtel Thanks freebies such as a free 4-week course on Shaw Academy and Airtel Xstream Premium.
As of now, the new Rs 555 plan is available only for Vodafone users from Mumbai circle, it is not clear if Vodafone will expand it to other circles or not. With the launch of this plan, Vodafone is now offering a total of 16 unlimited plans.
