Vodafone-SIM-Back

A few days ago state-owned telecommunications operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) renamed its network name to ‘Stay at Home’ now following the trend private operator Vodafone has also changed its network name to add a suffix of ‘be safe’ due to coronavirus pandemic.

This new move has got mixed reactions from tweeple, while some users appreciated the decision, some others took a jibe by comparing it with Vodafone’s economic condition and network infrastructure.

As per direction from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), all telecom companies have already replaced the default caller tune to a 30-second COVID-19 prevention caller tune.

You would rarely find anyone in the country without a cellphone hence awareness through telecom operators could prove to be effective. As of writing this article, Reliance Jio and Airtel had not made any change in their network name.
