Vi (Vodafone Idea) has recently pushed its price hike on its ‘Family’ postpaid on a pan India basis. For the unversed, Vi has initially introduced ‘Family-New’ brand of postpaid plans coupled with price hike suceeding the erstwhile ‘Family’ brand of postpaid plans in select circles.
The price hike initially went live in Uttar Pradesh (East) in November 2020 followed by Chennai & Tamil Nadu, Kolkata, and Maharashtra & Goa in February 2021. The price hike is now pushed on a pan India basis from Vi’s end.
As part of the price hike, Vi’s ‘FAMILY S’ postpaid plan priced at Rs 598 earlier will be now available as ‘FAMILY 649‘ postpaid plan with a price hike of Rs 51. Vi’s ‘FAMILY M’ postpaid plan priced at Rs 749 will now be available as ‘FAMILY 799‘ postpaid plan with a price hike of Rs 50. The pricing of Family XL postpaid plan now known as Family 999 remains unchanged.
Vi has implemented the long-due price hike on its entry-level Family postpaid plans over a period of 5 months across India in three phases. The company recently also withdrew ZEE5 Premium subscription from fresh subscriptions of RED postpaid plans starting 10th March 2021.
