Tecno has launched a new budget smartphone Tecno Spark 8C in the Spark 8 series. It is the fifth smartphone in this series. Previously, the company had introduced Spark 8 in September 2021, followed by Spark 8P in October, Spark 8 Pro in November and Spark 8T was made official in December last year.
Specifications
The Techno Spark 8C features a 6.6-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. This screen has a waterdrop notch at the top centre for the front-facing camera which is also equipped with an LED flash.
Although the official product listing for this handset does not provide details of the processor used, it is expected to be powered by an octa-core Unisoc T606 chipset and has 64GB internal storage. This processor is found in budget phones like Realme C21Y, C25Y, Moto E40, etc.
For taking photos there is a rectangular camera block on the back housing a dual-camera setup. The primary camera is a 13-megapixel sensor with an f/1.8 lens paired with an AI lens and dual-LED flash. An 8-megapixel selfie camera sensor is also present at the front with a selfie flash.
The smartphone runs on HiOS based on Android 11 Go Edition and packs a 5,000mAh battery with standard 10W charging support. It is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor mounted on the back and supports DTS surround sound, memory expansion and a microSD card. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and a USB port.
Availability
The company has not announced pricing for this handset but it is listed on the company’s site in Nigeria and Thailand. In Nigeria, the Techno Spark 8C site will be available in 2GB and 3GB RAM options, while in Thailand it will be sold in a single 4GB RAM option. It comes in four colour options- Diamond Grey, Iris Purple, Magnet Black, and Turquoise Cyan.
