The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) last week granted MSC codes to Tata Teleservices Limited and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited for provisioning Internet Telephony. The allocation came into consideration at the request of the two companies.
Tata Teleservices Limited has been allocated ACCESS-MSC codes 92400, 92401, 92280, 92281, 92282, 92283, 92402, 92403, 92404, 92405, 92406, 92284, 92285, 92407, 92286, 92287, and 92408 in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Kolkata, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (East), Uttar Pradesh (West), and West Bengal LSAs respectively.
Tata Teleservices Limited has been allocated ACCESS-MSC codes 92288 and 92289 in Mumbai and Maharashtra LSA, respectively.
The aforementioned MSC code series can be used by the TSP except for the ported-out subscribers of Tata Teleservices. The allocation will allow the TSP to meet the demand of one million subscribers in each circle.
