Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Bharti Hexacom to provision 4G services in 502 villages under USOF

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) last month executed agreement with Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, and Bharti Hexacom for the provisioning of 4G based mobile services in identified uncovered villages in aspirational districts in the states of Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh & Uttar Pradesh. The agreement is line with DoT’s announcement earlier this year in January 2021 in its year-ender report.

Reliance Jio Infocomm has got the mandate for provisioning of 4G services in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in 227 uncovered villages. Reliance Jio will set up and manage the mobile service sites in the 277 uncovered villages. The agreement includes 186 sites in 195 uncovered villages in 5 aspirational districts of Madhya Pradesh and 20 sites in 22 uncovered villages in 6 aspirational districts of Uttar Pradesh.

Bharti Airtel and Bharti Hexacom have got the mandate for provisioning of 4G based services in Bihar and Rajasthan. Bharti Airtel will set up and manage the mobile service sites in 80 uncovered villages in 5 aspirational districts of Bihar while setting up 62 sites whereas Bharti Hexacom will set up and manage the mobile service sites in 205 uncovered villages in 8 aspirational districts while setting up 194 sites.

In total, the four states will see 462 sites covering 502 villages to be covered in 24 aspirational districts with an estimated cost of Rs 686.71 crore to provide 4G services.

The Agreement will remain valid for 12 months (rollout period) + Ten years unless revoked earlier for any reason whatsoever. Date of effect of this Agreement shall be the date of signing of the agreement,” read USOF’s agreement with the USPs.

  1. How much time it will take to deploy new spectrum to Airtel in UP EAST that have been bought in March 2021, especially 900 Mhz B8 band?

  2. Airtel does not want it’s Rajasthan kingdom go away.

    They are trying hard & matching jio in Rajasthan ‘s deep rural pockets .

    Till last year ,there were no networks in jhadol , badmer & Udaipur rural pockets.

    Once jio rolled out huge number of towers in deep jungles having population of few thousand , Airtel too started following jio blindly.
