Reliance Jio AGM 2023 date announced: Here’s what to expect

Reliance Industries Ltd has announced the date for its 46th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of shareholders. The AGM will be held on August 28, 2023, at 2 PM IST and will be live streamed via Reliance’s official YouTube channel. Millions of investors, customers, partners, and stakeholders of Reliance across the country are expected to watch the AGM 2023. The company could also announce Jio 5G phone and new Jio 5G mobile plans at the AGM.

Here’s what to expect from Reliance AGM 2023

At the meeting, the company is expected to showcase the growth and expansion plans of the conglomerate, as well as announce new 5G devices and services, including Jio AirFiber, affordable Jio 5G phone, and new 5G mobile plans.

Jio 5G plans

Reliance Jio has already rolled out its True 5G services in many cities across India and is expected to complete the rollout by 2024. The company has not yet revealed its 5G plans, and currently, users with an eligible 4G plan and a 5G handset can avail of unlimited 5G services at no additional cost. At the AGM 2023, Jio could announce new 5G plans with more data that might cost higher than current 4G plans.

Jio Phone 5G

Reliance is expected to announce its new low-cost 5G smartphone at the AGM 2023. In 2020, Reliance Jio partnered with Google to launch an affordable 5G smartphone in the country. However, the company hasn’t released the phone yet.

In December 2022, the Jio 5G phone appeared on GeekBench. Further, the live images of the handset were leaked in June 2023, which suggests the launch is near. According to the reports, the Jio Phone 5G is expected to feature a 6.5-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ SoC, and run Android 12 operating system out of the box.

Listing of Jio Financial Services

At the AGM 2023, Reliance could also reveal the listing date of Jio Financial Services. As per Economic Times, RIL completed the demerger of its financial services business into Reliance Strategic Investments in July and renamed it Jio Financial Services. Furthermore, Jio Financial has made temporary entry into the indices of exchanges, such as Sensex and Nifty 50, at a fixed price and will remain until it gets officially listed.

Jio AirFiber

Reliance unveiled Jio AirFiber at AGM 2022, but the company is yet to announce its pricing and availability. At the GGM 2023, the company is expected to announce the pricing, availability, and plan details of the Jio AirFiber. The Jio AirFiber is a portable device that can deliver high-speed fiber broadband like 5G internet at home or office.
