Xiaomi has once again increased the price of the Redmi Note 8 smartphone in India. Earlier, the phone received a price hike due to the GST rate hike on smartphones, and another price hike in early June. Redmi Note 8 was launched in India with a starting price of Rs. 9,999.
The Redmi Note 8 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant has received a price hike of Rs. 500 and is now available for Rs. 12,499. Earlier it was priced at Rs. 11,999. There is no change in the price of the 6GB and 128GB storage variant and is still available for Rs. 14,499. The new pricing is also reflecting on the Mi India website. The Redmi Note 8 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant have received a total price hike of Rs. 2,500 since launch.
To recall, the Redmi Note 8 features a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ (1080 x 2340 pixels) IPS display with brightness up to 450 nits. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 (11 nm) chipset paired with Adreno 610 GPU, 6GB LPDDR4x RAM, and up to 128 GB eMMC 5.1 storage. The phone runs MIUI 11 based on Android Pie (9.0) OS.
Redmi Note 8 sports a quad-rear camera setup of 48 MP f/1.79 primary sensor, 8 MP f/2.2 120-degree ultrawide angle lens, 2 MP f/2.4 macro, and 2 MP f/2.4 depth sensor. On the front, it has a 13 MP f/2.0 camera on the waterdrop notch display.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, dual 4G VoLTE, GPS/ A-GPS/ GLONASS/ Beidou, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C port. Sensors included are proximity, compass, gyroscope, accelerometer, and rear-mounted fingerprint reader. The phone comes with a non-removable 4000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging technology.
