Realme 9 5G SE with 144Hz display, Snapdragon 778G SoC launched in India

Realme has introduced the Realme 9 5G SE smartphone in India along with the Realme 9 5G in India on Thursday. ‘SE’ in this model name is an abbreviation for Speed Edition. The existing lineup of the Realme 9 series includes the Realme 9i, Realme 9 Pro, and Realme 9 Pro Plus. 

Specifications

The Realme 9 5G SE sports a 6.6-inch Full HD+ IPS display with 2412×1080 pixels resolution, up to 144Hz adaptive refresh rate, 180Hz sampling rate, 90.8 per cent screen to body ratio, 600 nits peak brightness and DCI-P3 colour gamut. 

Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset paired with Adreno 642L GPU. It has up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage that is further expandable up to 1TB via a microSD card. It also supports 5GB of additional virtual RAM by utilising unused storage. 

There is a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel primary camera, a monochrome portrait lens and a macro sensor. On the front side, housed inside a punch-hole cutout, it has a 16-megapixel selfie camera. 

The handset comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 30W Dart fast charging support. It runs on Realme UI 2.0 custom skin based on Android 11 OS. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS and a USB Type-C port. 

Pricing and Availability

The Realme 9 5G SE base variant with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at Rs. 19,999 while the 8GB + 128GB storage variant will cost Rs. 22,999. It comes in Starry Glow and Azure Glow colour options. 

This smartphone will go on sale from March 14 via Flipkart. Realme.com and authorised retail stores. Buyers can get an instant discount of Rs 2,000 on ICICI Bank, SBI Bank Credit card and credit card EMI transactions.
