Nokia brand-licensee HMD Global on Monday launched Nokia XR20 smartphone in India which is said to be the toughest ever Nokia phone. It is the first smartphone from this brand in the country that comes with a military-grade design.

The Nokia XR20 has a 6.67-inch FHD+ IPS display with 1,080×2,400 pixels resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, standard 60Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. It is IP68 and MIL-STD810H-certified for durability and can withstand extreme temperatures from +55C to -20C, 1.8m drops and 1 hour underwater.
Under the hood, it is powered by a budget octa-core processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone has a 4,630mAh non-removable battery with 18W fast charging support and 15W wireless charging.
In terms of optics, there is a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor and a 13MP ultra-wide shooter. On the front, it has an 8MP selfie shooter housed in the hole punch cut-out.
It comes with a dual stereo speaker setup and 2 noise-cancelling microphones, the fingerprint sensor is side-mounted. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, GPS/ A-GPS, NavIC, NFC, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Nokia will offer 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security updates on this device.
Pricing and Availability
The Nokia XR20 is priced at Rs 46,999 for lone 6GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. It will be available in Ultra Blue and Granite colour options. Pre-bookings for this phone starts on October 20 and the sale is slated to begin on October 30 via leading offline retail stores, e-commerce platforms, and Nokia.com. Nokia should have given Snapdragon 778G or 870 instead of 480.
