HMD Global has launched the Nokia G50 midrange 5G smartphone. The phone runs on Android 11 OS out of the box and will receive two major Android upgrades and three years of monthly security updates. It features a 6.82-inch HD+ V-notch display, triple rear cameras, FM Radio, dual microphones, and 18W fast charging support.

Nokia G50 features a 6.82-inch HD+ (720 x 1560 pixels) V-notch IPS display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 70-percent NTSC color gamut, and 450 nits peak brightness. The phone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 (8 nm) mobile chipset paired with an Adreno 619 GPU, up to 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM, and up to 128GB UFS 2.1 of storage. It also has a microSD card slot for expandable storage, supports up to 512GB.
In terms of optics, the Nokia G50 comes with a triple rear camera setup of a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 5-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel shooter for taking selfies and making video calls. The phone is equipped with a non-removable 5000mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging technology.
Connectivity options include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax-ready, Bluetooth version 5.0, NFC, 5G, 4G LTE, GPS/AGPS/ BDS/ Galileo, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors include an accelerometer, magnetometer, ambient light, gyroscope, proximity, and a side-mounted fingerprint reader. Lastly, the phone measures 173.83mm x 77.68mm x 8.85mm and weighs 220 grams.
Pricing and availability
Nokia G50 is priced at GBP 199.99 (around Rs. 20,100) for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. It comes in Ocean Blue and Midnight Sun color options and is available for purchase in the UK. In the US, the phone costs USD 299.99 (around Rs. 22,100) for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant and is currently available for pre-order, with shipment commence from October 5, 2021. HMD Global is yet to announce the availability details of the smartphone in the global market, including India.
