Californian streaming giant Netflix has picked up Hindi dramedy Pagglait, adding it to ever-growing Indian library. The film will premiere on the platform later this year which was shot in Lucknow follows a young girl who discovers looming questions about love and belonging in a small town.
The film stars Sanya Malhotra (Dangal), Shruti Sharma (Nazar 2), Ashutosh Rana (War) and Raghubir Yadav (Sui Dhaaga) in lead roles. The film is written and directed by Umesh Bist and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Guneet Monga under Balaji Motion Pictures and Sikhya Entertainment.
Netflix also picked up “Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare” from Balaji Motion Pictures making it as first Ekta Kapoor production premiering on third party platform instead of Balaji Telefilms owned ALTBalaji. The film stars Konkona Sen Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar and directed by Alankrita Shrivastava and set to premiere on September 18, 2020. Balaji Telefilms is also said to be in the process of evaluating options other productions as well.
