JioFiber has strengthened its entertainment Over The Top (OTT) application offerings with the addition of Video on Demand (VOD) service Amazon Prime Video. Amazon Prime Video is now available on JioFiber Set-Top boxes since this morning.
The introduction of Amazon Prime Video on JioFiber Set-Top boxes was reported today by our community forum member srujanchinnni, a JioFiber user. The JioFiber user has stated that Prime Video is not available for free. One will have to subscribe to the VOD streaming app to access its contents.
JioFiber Set-Top boxes users can enjoy the latest movies, award-winning Amazon originals, and TV shows from India and around the world. OnlyTech was able to verify the introduction of Prime Video through pictures provided by another JioFiber user Vadivelan.
JioFiber had earlier boosted its offerings this year with the addition of Zee5, Toppscholars, and JioCall app. JioFiber STB is now shipping with the latest Android 9.0 on new STBs.
Sun NXT, Disney+Hotstar, Sony LIV, Zee5, Voot, JioCinema, and Amazon Prime Video are the OTT apps in JioFiber STB offerings now. Notably, Alt Balaji can also be seen installed in the above picture.
It remains to be seen if Jio continues to address the shortcomings of its JioFiber set-top boxes and provide access to more content to its users, as lack of Live TV is currently a major disadvantage of JioFiber set-top box.
