Google has announced its global rewards program, called Google Play Points, will be available in India. Google Play Points allows users to earn reward points using the Play Store in several ways, including buying subscriptions and making in-app purchases. Google Play Points will start rolling out to users in the country in the coming weeks.
The Play Points rewards program is categorized into four levels– Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Users will get different perks and rewards depending on their level, which is based on the number of points a user has collected. Users will receive points when they use the Google Play billing system to buy apps, subscriptions, books, and in-app purchases.
Users can then redeem their collected points to receive Google Play credits which they can spend on Google Play Store to purchase apps, subscriptions, and more. Google has partnered with apps and games developers to allow users to redeem their points for special in-app items.
In India, Google is partnering with over 30 game titles, including 8 Ball Pool, Evony: The King’s return, Ludo King, Word Trip, and Ludo Star, to let users exchange their points for special in-app items. Further, there are also popular participating apps such as Truecaller and Wysa.
Google Play Point program is currently available in 28 countries. Users can join the program for free by tapping the profile icon on the Play Store and selecting Play Points.
