Google Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro with Tensor G3 chipset launched in India

Google has launched the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro smartphones at its Made by Google 2023 hardware launch event. The Pixel 8 features a 6.2-inch full-HD+ OLED display, while the Pixel 8 Pro comes with a 6.7-inch quad-HD+ LTPO OLED display. Both smartphones are powered by a Google Tensor G3 processor with a Titan M2 security chip and run on the Android 14 operating system out of the box. According to Google, the Pixel 8 series will receive up to seven years of software updates.

Google Pixel 8 specifications

The Google Pixel 8 features a 6.2-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, up to 2000 nits of peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. The phone is powered by a Google Tensor G3 processor paired with Titan M2 security chip, Immortalis-G715s MC10 GPU, 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage.

In terms of optics, the Google Pixel 8 sports a dual rear camera setup of a 50-megapixel Samsung GN2 primary sensor with an f/1.68 aperture and a 12-megapixel 125-degree ultra-wide Sony IMX386 camera with a f/2.2 aperture. For selfies and video calls, the phone has a 10.5-megapixel sensor on the front with f/2.2 aperture. The phone packs a non-removable 4575mAh battery that supports 27W fast charging technology.

Under the hood, the phone has a Google Tensor G3 chipset paired with Titan M2 security chip, Immortalis-G715s MC10 GPU, up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 1TB of UFS 3.1 onboard storage.

Google Pixel 8 Pro sports a triple rear camera setup of a 50-megapixel Samsung GN2 primary sensor with an f/1.68 aperture, a 48-megapixel 125-degree ultra-wide camera with an f/1.98 aperture, and a 48-megapixel telephoto lens with 5X optical zoom. For taking selfies and making video calls, the phone has a 10.5-megapixel sensor on the front with f/2.2 aperture. The phone is equipped with a non-removable 5050mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging technology.

Pricing and availability

The Google Pixel 8 is priced at Rs. 75,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, while the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage model costs Rs. 82,999. It comes in Obsidian, Hazel, and Rose colors. On the other hand, the Google Pixel 8 Pro is priced at Rs. 1,06,999 for the sole 128GB variant. It comes in Obsidian and Bay colors. These phones are currently available for pre-order and will be available for purchase via Flipkart starting October 12, 2023.
