Excitel shuts down its broadband services in 13 Indian cities

Excitel has stopped offering its broadband services in 13 cities in India, including Akbarpur, Auraiya, Bareilly, Hamirpur, Kannauj, Konch, Kushinagar, Nagaur, Nohar, Orai, Rawatsar, Sumerpur, and Suratgarh.

Excitel Broadband

Broadband service provider Excitel has discontinued its services in 13 cities in India, reducing its availability to 34 cities across the country. The company currently offers only three plans – 200 Mbps, 300 Mbps, and 400 Mbps. The plans differ in their OTT app access and internet speed, with the 400 Mbps plan providing the most benefits.

Excitel has stopped offering its broadband services in Akbarpur, Auraiya, Bareilly, Hamirpur, Kannauj, Konch, Kushinagar, Nagaur, Nohar, Orai, Rawatsar, Sumerpur, and Suratgarh. 

With the discontinuation of the broadband services in 13 cities, Excitel broadband is now available in 34 cities in India, including Adilabad, Amroha, Bangalore, Bhimavaram, Delhi NCR, Deoria, Farrukhabad, Etawah, Fatehpur, Gorakhpur, Guntur, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jhansi, Jodhpur, Kakinada, Kanpur, Khammam, Lucknow, Mangalore, Meerut, Miryalguda, Mumbai, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Patna, Prayagraj, Rohtak, Sonipat, Unnao, Varanasi, Vishakhapatnam, Vijayawada, and Vrindavan.

The broadband provider offers three plans – 200 Mbps, 300 Mbps, and 400 Mbps. The 200 Mbps plan does not provide access to any OTT apps, while the 300 Mbps plan offers a Disney+ Hotstar subscription. On the other hand, the 400 Mbps plan provides access to over 15 OTT apps, including Disney+ Hotstar, SonyLIV, Zee5, Alt Balaji, Hungama Play, Hungama Music, Discovery+, Shemaroo, and PlayBox TV. Customers can visit the Excitel website to check details and availability and book a new connection.

No way any small time competitor can compete against JioFiber's backup plan. Jio needs to stop this. You are destroying your own ARPU along with competition. Very bad for business.
